Jury expert guy, working nationwide in the art & science of juror persuasion & understanding. Legal education about juries suuuuucks; we were taught crap. I'm the Jury Mythbuster. ⚖️
See Juryology.com. You know. If you want to.
Lawyers in jury selection: STOP GIVING A RULE THEN ASKING WHETHER PROSPECTIVE JUROR CAN FOLLOW IT. Eg, "The judge will tell you I only have to prove my case by a feather over 50%; the law COMMANDS a verdict. [Pause] Will you be able to follow that rule?"

Ugh. Lame, counterproductive format.

And I'll add the IRL as well. A public library in Reno has these kits for memory care made up and ready to go-- puzzles and games, etc. I was quite touched, and deeply impressed at the thoughtfulness of library staff for serving their community in this way.

"Jesus, tell me, have you ever seen such a rigged trial in your life?...

And of COURSE I wanted a bench trial. What kind of asshole wants to sit around all day talking about rules and how I'm supposed to live my life with 12 people yanked out of their lives with nothing better to do?"

Picked a jury today in Napa County Courthouse. I appreciate the charming old courthouses now and then.

I wish lawyers and jury consultants would stop saying - or thinking - stupid, unfounded, easily disprovable things. ⚖️

Ugh. WaPo getting ready to imitate NYTimes's normalizing/excusing desantis, in the guise of inanity. They're trawling on this media query service. I use "trawling" because this could cause nausea.

Here's a kicky 1960's example of simultaneously devaluing women AND jurors.
