i can't think of anything uniquely usamerican about the show, even if that was the inspiration of the writers and the context in which it was written, if one doesn't come from an usamerican background they won't even catch on the immigrant-coding

and i maintain that, when dealing with fans from different cultural backgrounds, you can't assume they're working under a bias that's nonexisting for them, nor you can expect them to conform to rules created in a completely different context
