For instance, if medical staff can't find a vein, perhaps medical training and equipment should be improved rather than body shaming the patient. Fat people are allowed to exist. Seems like a bad doctor that blames the patient.

Seems unkind to talk about anyone this way let alone someone in a sport where big/fat bodies are accepted and even encouraged. Sometimes people in sports have unhealthy habits; it's also rude to call overly thin or muscly people "gross". Fat ppl have to deal with these kinds of comments constantly.
