I appreciate all the work you do. Is 2 weeks isolation still best practice if showing symptoms or testing positive?

I was potentially exposed yesterday, was wearing a mask but my dog was not and at least 1 person (of 8 fairly close outside) is now showing symptoms. My dog will want to see the person who is sick asap, is 2 weeks still best practice? I know the CDC is unreliable for info on timing
