It's a difference of scale to me. Nicotine is addictive and has withdrawal symptoms. My parents have tried to quit smoking more times than I can count. It's not easy to fix your diet, but it's even harder to quit an addictive substance.

I have a mixed opinion on Lightning. On one hand, she's probably one of the best written and coolest characters in XIII. On the other hand, she is a contender for the most emotionally constipated main character in Final Fantasy. So make of that what you will.
