Big emphasis that blue-state tax dollars pay for these projects and why that’s OK is all that’s needed IMO. Blue state taxpayers drive through red states, as do trucks carrying their goods to/from other blue states.

Can I both acknowledge that the system is predatory and that every example cited in these articles display a refusal to acknowledge reality. Either by not tackling the debt immediately or by incurring it for 2-3 graduate degrees as a way of kicking the can down the road.
