Yeah I totally get what you mean. I try to meet them with passive energy, I’ve been there and know what it’s like to have to fight for titles. Maybe they haven’t. Or maybe they have literally nothing else in their lives to occupy them. Feels like some people have no coping mechanism.

I have a suspicion that as society becomes more reclusive (home delivery, online discourse and gaming), people project neurotic fears and it creates a vicious cycle. Newer gen fans have less lived experience, which can calm anxiety and make discourse a bit more balanced. People, go for a walk!

Watching NFL and Sean McVeigh was just quoted as saying how challenging it can be to admit to yourself that your strategy hasn’t worked and to adapt. Given Mikel knows Sean, do you think he could benefit from a discussion on exactly this point, in light of how we played today?

No, but objectively there is something either right or wrong about your statement. I don't attach credit to it, but your point is either a contributor or not. As for VG, I think the second statement about Eze means we have to leave the possibility that it's not the player it's the system.

If you're right, it follows that it makes no sense to be too critical of the people you mentioned who have under-performed I guess. I guess that also means if Arteta can look at himself and realise that's the issue, if he rectifies it then some of those players could improve. Let's hope so!

Listen, people can feel how they want to feel. But I can't imagine being someone who gives too much of a toss about sport when the outside world is falling apart. Maybe that's at the root of a lot of people's rage and they don't even know it.

Thanks for posting. I've been trying to figure out why we are so poor after we go ahead in games, I think what you're saying about over-coached may be the case.

And also, you know what? If he doesn’t, maybe he’s not at the level, and that’s fine too. He seems to have good people around him so big picture I have no doubt he’ll look back at his career one day and be happy.

Yeah, I feel like your concerns around him are completely understandable, I guess for me, at some point you have to sink or swim, that’s just elite sport. And whilst I do have the same worries, I think equally it could make him - which would obviously be awesome.
