United Healthcare tried to bankrupt me last year, over a $20,000 ER bill they denied paying. I was so depressed going through dealing with them I had thoughts of the SUV that hit me riding my bicycle would have finished me off. UHC is such a shit company.

And UHC just denied your claim, your out of pocket cost is $1,200 per month, would you like to sell all your possessions now or should the corporation seize your assets to save you the trouble?

Yeah people love to suck the boot hoping to get a chance at being rich.

You inferred a person praising that ceo death is why we don't get universal Healthcare. Did I misunderstand ?

I prevoously had WPS and Anthem Blue Cross through the same employer until they switched over time, UHC was picked at the end of 2022 to lower costs. Worked full time same employer the 19 years and always had coverage through the employer.

This was the accident. I was lucky and didn't have any broken bones. A year later I did have to have an umbilical hernia surgery due to a tear from this that wasn't discovered until after the settlement that needed so I didn't go bankrupt or ruin my credit.

I expended so much energy and time on this fight talking to lawyers and couldn't get any traction. I didn't have broken bones and I wasn't killed and the driver wasn't a city worker or something where a lawyer would get $$$$. I was lucky. Many were not. Karma is a bitch.

I am 42. And I've had hospital stays for an appendix removal and an ER visit a couple years prior though another carrier. Regular doctor visits and prescriptions. Only when work switched to UHC was there any issue
December 5, 2024 at 1:46 AM
I spent so many months arguing with UHC, what ended up happening is the drivers insurance offered me a settlement that was almost exactly what I owed. I guess I'm thankful that I had no long term damage except my $5,000 bike was totaled.
December 5, 2024 at 1:43 AM
That's what I though, well their reason is they said I have Medicare! I didn't. I had private insurance through employer that I worked for non stop 19 years. My partner had an odd denial from UHC right before this they denied a flu shot administration but paid for the shot itself.

19 years of private insurance never an issue until work switched to United Healthcare. I was paying $180 A WEEK off my check for coverage for myself only. Fuck UHC.
December 5, 2024 at 1:34 AM
Last year I was hit by an SUV while riding my bike to pick my son up from school. The SUV was at fault. I had private insurance through employer through United Heslthcare. The ambulance and ER visit cost over $20,000 and UHC denied my claims leaving me on the hook. I'm thankful the CEO died.
