The admin is firing agents pushing back on legally questionable orders, while also firing agents who accepted assignments given to them in a prior admin.

As we told @nbcnews.com: "Line agents can’t do their job if they're in constant fear that any action they take could result in termination.”
FBI fires special agents who worked on Jack Smith's probe into Trump
The agents were fired after Kash Patel disclosed that Smith's team obtained phone records of members of Congress, which the Smith report itself referred to.

DOJ unnecessarily furloughed employees in grant offices, putting domestic violence victims & law enforcement at greater risk.

As Justice Connection member Marnie Shiels told
@politico.com, "Their own contingency plan says that they have funds. So it’s a choice to say, ‘We want this to hurt.'"
DOJ furloughs could impact domestic violence grants. Some fear that's the point.
The grant managers sent home this week have typically worked through past government shutdowns.

Here’s our letter sounding the alarm on the degradation of DOJ’s vital work as referenced in today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing: bit.ly/46UC08X

We agree with AG Bondi - it's disgraceful that federal law enforcement is working without pay.

It's also disgraceful that the White House believes they are not entitled to back pay when this shutdown is over.

AG Bondi's actions show she has heard President Trump's "transparent" orders for vindictive prosecutions loud and clear.

Reminder: AG Bondi is under oath today.

Ahead of AG Bondi's Senate testimony, hundreds of recent DOJ alumni joined our open letter, urging Congress to exercise its oversight responsibilities far more vigorously.

Members must provide a meaningful check on abuses we're witnessing: www.thejusticeconnection.org/urgent-messa...

Thousands of DOJ public servants sent farewell messages on their last day. We’ve collected them to preserve the wisdom & concerns they shared.

Ahead of AG Bondi's hearing, their words remind us: the rule of law is only as strong as those who uphold it: bit.ly/4obGX4p

Today, we released a letter signed by nearly 300 former DOJ employees who were recently pushed out.

Together, we sound the alarm about the degradation of DOJ and warn that democracy can’t survive without the primary institution that enforces the law: bit.ly/48AnzcT

A must-read from @michael-feinberg.bsky.social, Justice Connection advisory committee member and former FBI agent, on the ongoing politicization of the bureau under Director Patel.
lawfaremedia.org
"I know that at least one agent held the potential of being an upstanding public servant, who embodied the best ideals of the FBI, and now will always be associated with an elected official’s unending quest for revenge."

@michael-feinberg.bsky.social discusses the politicization of the FBI.

Using partisan messages is inappropriate for all federal agencies, but especially for DOJ, which must remain impartial and insulated from partisan influences.

Forcing federally funded programs to turn away victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence because they can’t immediately access legal documents is cruel.

DOJ is meant to serve everyone equally, not create conditions that make it easier for abusers to control their victims.

We urge the DAG to heed the sage advice from the judge who dismissed the mayor's case w/ prejudice: "Your role is not to secure convictions at all costs, nor to satisfy public clamor, nor to advance political agendas. Your allegiance is to the imperial application of the law..."
