International action against cyber scams and human trafficking cannot succeed without targeting the root cause — the Myanmar military, which needs funds to continue its campaign of terror against the people.

The lawsuit comes after a JFM and ICJ Norway police complaint against Telenor for breach of sanctions over its sharing of sensitive data with the junta, and installing and maintaining surveillance equipment.

Telenor must also be fully investigated for aiding and abetting crimes against humanity.

#Myanmar victims and civil society are suing Telenor for sharing call logs and location data with the illegal Myanmar military junta. The junta used this data to detain, torture and kill activists. Data was then handed to the crony conglomerate Shwe Byain Phyu in Telenor's irresponsible 2022 sale.
