The police cannot self-regulate. The Met must publicly & unequivocally accept the Casey Review's findings - that it is institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic - and the gov't must urgently review how police accountability can be improved. [3/4]

While the footage is shocking, it is not new: repeated investigations document systemic failures in how police treat racialised communities and women, and warn of a culture of institutional defensiveness - something the documentary shows remains deeply entrenched. [2/4]

With @alexdaviesjones.bsky.social and @kimjohnsonmp.bsky.social, we discussed reforming a regime forcing victims to prove innocence.
