That is a great tip. I think about my characters too much. I've been known to talk about them as if they exist, then look a complete prat when I have to apologise and explain they're in my head!

I've got someone who despite dirty looks and ignoring them, only goes away when I tell them to F*** Off. They finally get the message and go off for a sulk. I don't care what they do as long as they do it quietly and in another room.
