We do not deserve dogs. We recently lost our 16-ish year old girl after a sudden severe illness. The vet was compassionate and kind. No steel tables, harsh sterile lighting, but the natural light and a comfy couch to transition my girl over her rainbow bridge.

Since the world is on fire and our future is more uncertain today than it has been in 80 years, let's remember that worrying is like a rocking chair. While it gives us something to do, it gets us nowhere. Do what you can and don't buy anything you do not absolutely need.

I try and make memorable moments, not just for me but also for my son. This is so he can think back and smile when I am gone. Tonight, we are getting the rare snow where we live, so I made a loaf of bread. Snow and hot homemade bread. Yes, good times.
