We had an Apple IIe before going all in on the x86 platform. Had an amber monitor also because green wasn’t as cool. :-). Loved playing Wizadry and Ultima back in the day. I think we bought a Gateway 386 and then I built the 486 from scratch. It was fun back in the day.

We knew that injection wells caused issues years ago. The problem is the lack of proper investment in alternatives. Go drive around Pecos and the huge drilling fields north. These areas are equivalent to our nuclear bomb test areas. Texans don’t care so why should we.

Ha! Great story. Might add that Tanner’s wife wasn’t a US citizen at the time of her early death so now there is a fight to revoke the daughter’s citizenship. Tanner, a veteran who married his “white-ish”, Christian Iraqi interpreter, never thought the rhetoric meant “them”.

They have come a long way. We had a 2007 that got 19mpg around town and had a CVT that hunted as badly as Elmer Fudd but…I loved that van. It was powerful and hauled anything the average person needed to haul.

Our 2020 Nissan Leaf main battery was replaced last spring at 25K miles and it cost us…..nothing. That’s 5 years of driving and zero maintenance. If we get 5 more at the same cost, zero, how in the hell is that a bad thing? Love our EV!

Even at 12, I still found Star Wars more plausible than Moonraker, but it was fun. This was also the year of “The Wall” being released, which is what my dad took my friends and I to see for my birthday in Dec, 79. The vehicle were always the stars in Bond movies to me.
