Mac is mostly useful if you are fully enmeshed in Apple (iPhone, iPad, iCloud, FinalCut, etc) or the software you use is Apple-only. Otherwise Apple is so restrictive about interoperability that it isn’t worth it.
Windows 11 is decent, so long as you turn off all the Copilot junk.

Even more, all LLMs contain a randomization factor in their output that is explicitly intended to make it sound more "natural" and prevent it from simply regurgitating the training data. Hallucinations are quite literally a feature, not a bug.

FWIW it’s the C-suite that makes these decisions not the legal counsel. They only answer to the Board/shareholders and have massive golden parachutes so they are happy to take the risk. And if it works in their favor they will get massive bonuses, so a personal win-win.

Except people have proven time and again that they don’t stop. Eventually someone gets into their ear and whispers that with just a bit more, even their current life will seem a poverty. It takes an immense amount of will and personal accountability to stop at “enough”

In order to make the argument that they shouldn't enforce the ban, they'd have to dance around the fact that their market position (monopoly) provides them the means of enforcement. Best to just stay quiet when it isn't something that directly impacts their financials, and as noted below may benefit
