Its toggleable but I have it on cus it looks kinda cool. Also reminds me of those days on ps3 edition.

Accessibility feature for console players to see what their position and armor. Crouching and other stuff. Honestly it wss probably a debug development thing at first. But 4j probably wanted to keep it for the full release.

It was requested during pocket edition development for console edition parity. It's been a while. But first hand I remember being on twitter and it being added during that time.
