www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... from last year, the lights are vertical as that is the traditional way they do it in Norway. I genuinely think it is a lovely tradition.

A Norwegian spruce is sent from Oslo every year to thank Britain for its support during World War Two.

Well since the 5 isn't in Roman numerals I will assume it is 5(XL) so 5(40)= 200 whereas XXXXXL would be 5 X's subtracted from a L as they are in front so 50 - 50 so 0.

That is fair enough, I guess as with lots of things it depends what you are going for and the conditions you have. I think they can provide interesting architectural shaping in the right design, particularly in hot dry windy microclimates. Personal preference is valid.

However if you have set phrases, slogans or repeat graphics, get them right when you have time and save the assets for reuse! And think about the audience if it is high profile have a sense check, if the risk of muck up is small but consequences large with small benefit if done correctly reconsider

I have definetely messed up some grammar on a Focus before and only realised after most of it was through letter boxes. It can be hard when you are volunteering and have a full time job and have to meet a print deadline by artworking in the evening.
October 6, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Absolutely, I saw that and thought probably some poor staffer was asked to artwork that super quick to meet a print deadline and it is easy to do. And another poor staffer flinging them in goody bags doesn't have a chance to proof read them. People in glass houses don't throw stones.

When I had that awful COVID sore throat a few years ago the best thing was a homemade honey and lemon juice drink it was about as effective as strepsils. Apparently some people swear by raw garlic. The internet says something cooling like ice cream or the less pleasant baking soda and salt water.
