Crazy thing is I could see them going on that kinda run (despite their recent insistence on drawing every game 😅) but I see these last 2 league games as our ‘slump’. Hopefully we wake up for United game. Still see us getting over the line come end of the season. No Villa win tomorrow and I’m content

He’s getting more things right than any of his rival managers for each competition this season, and if he can maintain/elevate that general consistency for the next 4 and half months, we end the season with a lot of silverware. I think he can. I think he will.

“City are +2 v Forest A & Liverpool H”:

Hence the feeling of losing ground over the last two game weeks even though we’ve actually extended our lead over City

This is our ‘slump’, provided we’re awake by the time United roll up next.

(Any slip up there and it’s a mini ‘crisis’. I use the word crisis advisedly.)

As seasonal slump go, currently it’s not bad

Arteta’s getting more right than he’s getting wrong. If he’s got blind spots, he’ll identify them sooner rather than later.

If we were supporters of those other teams, we’d equally have a lot to say about the suboptimal selections of the great Pep Guardiola, of Slot, Xabi Alonso, [insert name of ANY other top manager you wish to mention].
January 18, 2026 at 7:51 AM
…Look at Slot, he’s having a worse time integrating new players. Pep’s been struggling for the past year to integrate his army of new players optimally. Because we’re Arsenal fans, we retrospectively (and sometimes in advance) perceive the inefficiencies in our team selections and it makes us crazy.

When it comes to rotation, he’s arguably yesterday not quite gone with the optimum selection and we’ve struggled more than we probably should’ve. He’s learning how to use a top squad of this size and his new players. I’m sure he’ll improve in that respect
January 18, 2026 at 7:51 AM
He’s trying to use the squad in such a way that we go to the end on all 4 fronts. That naturally involves rotation. Taking more of a ‘best 11’ approach would have likely seen the injuries pile up even more and I don’t think we’d be in as good a position on all 4 fronts as we are.

Your anger is justified 😂
but I see it all working out in the end
