This will probably interest all of five people, but I'm seeing way too much false equivalence online between Stoicism and Grind Culture.

If you think Stoicism = single minded focus on goals or productivity, then you understand neither.

I have no good words to describe the immense privilege and heartache of holding your pet while they take their final breaths in this life, nor my utter contempt for cancer and all it does to any living thing, whether human or animal.

Saw this while mowing tonight. Why does it look like the Fae have been conducting rituals?

My sweet girl Oreo has a tumor. It's only going to get bigger and there's not much the vet can do. She's happy now, but we gotta enjoy all the cuddles we can with the time we have. 😥

Ningen Isu. These guys have been banging out great hard music since the 80s. I only found them a couple years ago.

Last night: teaching theology and comparative religion to some middle and high school kids. Today, cleaning up file systems after network data migrations. Coming up, playing music and making scratch pizza. I do like some variety.

My high school daughter is taking a college class this fall, and asked me for help with Chicago/Turabian citations. I'm having seminary flashbacks now.

Sometimes worship looks like gathering with other Jesus followers.

Sometimes it looks like breathing out a prayer for help figuring out why a septic alarm went off.

Guess which one I got to experience today? (Thankfully, it was a tripoed breaker. Still getting it inspected, though.)
