When the NAP was agreed upon by the federal and provincial governments we received it with cautious optimism but had many questions - mostly about the role of civil society, accountability and independent oversight. The 1st report is out and we still have questions www.canada.ca/en/women-gen...

In 1999, the UN designated 25 Nov as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in their memory. The day now marks the start of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.
