Seems highly unlikely since the Padres rank in the middle of MLB valuations precisely because of their fanbase and stadium. If he wanted to do that, he could just overpay for a low value team at a much lower price. The whole thing is derived from one speculative line in a lawsuit.

Give AJ some credit for the waiver pickup and it is a bit baffling why the Cubs gave up on him so quickly. He had one bad year in the minors (2023) where he still averaged 13.5 Ks/9 inning and was lights out in 2021 and 2022.
