Fortunately, more than ever AAA titles have not been where the great games are at. Pick up some A and AA games, you won’t regret it

Hey it’s a process! I’m sure whatever you end up with will be cool. Good luck

Depends. I don’t think you necessarily need to scale it back, but increasing the contrast between entities (e.g. making the player character a much different color than red) can reduce the artificial difficulty without a full rework of the actual difficulty of a scene

Looks really great already! Good luck!!

Gotta recommend Anima Well, Gato Roboto, Environmental Station Alpha, and both Hollow Knight games. All great metroidvanias that run great on steam deck.

Very interesting study and methodology. Curious to see what habitat isn’t being captured that is seemingly degrading and impacting the population despite better breeding grounds.

Building on that idea, giving the gun some sort of recoil (potentially through a charge shot) could open up movement by allowing on-the-spot switching directions (e.g. sprinting one direction, then charge shot to quickly pivot and go the opposite way)

Great idea! Would be cool if you reduced the jump of the robot form and made shooting downwards give you upward force so you have to change to gun form for larger verticals.

Hey fair enough, whatever works for your dev cycle

Always, and I mean always, just throw in a prototype that allows you to test functionality and worry about making it look good later. The UI doesn’t have to look good rn, it just has to work

Godot is great. Looking really smooth, wishlisting and wishing you the best finishing your game

What engine are you using?
January 10, 2026 at 1:46 PM
Not really, but they should

The DLC is great but has a much different feel than the base game. Not at all worse, just different

I wish I could feel it was worth buying. Handhelds market is just too good right now for me to justify going in on another Nintendo console, considering the alternatives
