Lifted heavy things to try and fix my mental health
Shirtless gay man with an arm and shoulder pump in his living room. Messy, sun flooded. I’m chubby but working on it.

Overriding the way your brain recognizes someone just to get a dig at and invalidate their identity is wild.

Especially in situations where a trans person has a very traditional gendered presentation. Like it is HARD to look at someone who presents entirely masculine, who you wouldn’t know is trans if they didn’t tell you, and call him “she”. Thats dedication to pure evil. To just hurting someone.

The amount of mental gymnastics it takes to purposely misgender someone is crazy. Like it takes a special level of malicious and evil to do that intentionally. You need to actively stop your brain doing the reasonable and easy thing and reframe things to let yourself misgender someone.

at minimum filibuster EVERYTHING? not just one thing to break a record and then sell a book...

anything but open revolt at this point is collaboration. if you are not blocking everything in any way possible, you are on their side.

democratic politicians who don't do everything in their power to resist this and still insist on being "civil" and even voting alongside them at times should be treated as the nazi collaborators they are

Jack Posobiec explicitly says that "Antifa" dates back to the Weimar Republic, explicitly acknowledging that this administration is opposed to those who resisted the arrival of Adolf Hitler in Power.

boldly lying to blame the opposition and everyone going along with it because it's convenient is a core aspect of fascism

(this was a bit exploitative tho. EVERY version, including the basic CD only, had at least one exclusive track. and the three DVD versions all had different content on the DVD. this they did actually want people to collect all versions for)

huge fan of the kaze ni mukau hana single covers featuring different medium shots of the same outfit against different stylized backdrops, too. completely consistent visual identity without even needing typography to pull it together.
the first 3 variants, featuring an ocean night scene as backdrop, a dramatic desert, and a mountain scape two more variants with a stylized purple grass backdrop and a yellow/greenish grass backdrop

Also often done for singles and I'm a huge fan of it there, too. And sometimes people would do cute little conceptual things. Like alan's early stretch of singles all having her eyes open for the CD+DVD cover and closed for the CD only variant.
alan's debut single ashita he no sanka. close up of her face, cd+dvd version eyes open, cd only eyes closed alan's second single hitotsu. wide shot, cd+dvd version eyes open, cd only eyes closed alan's third single natsukashii mirai. medium shot, cd+dvd version eyes open, cd only eyes closed alan's fourth single sora uta. medium shot, cd+dvd version eyes open, cd only eyes closed

(also, the covers were rarely the ONLY point of difference. these were different formats and/or came with bonus discs. the 2cd+dvd had a live album included on the second cd. you picked your favorite/the format you want, there was no pressure to buy all four)

I hate this trend of albums having multiple covers out of the gate bc they are often largely unrelated stylistically different photos & the album lacks a visual identity as a result. But I'll forever stan the common Japanese way using multiple takes from the same photoshoot. recognizably same album.
4 cover variants for ayumi hamasaki's next level album. all the same setting and outfit, just 3 close-ups with slightly different poses and one wide shot
jygglypuffdaddy.bsky.social
albums had ONE COVER ART. the exception would be deluxe editions released down the line which may get a new cover and sometimes even title. (and Japan, where 2-6 cover variants for even singles was the norm since at least the mid 2000s)
jygglypuffdaddy.bsky.social
an album dropped digital, physical and maybe LP. the most you may get would be exclusive bonus tracks for different retailers. very rarely more than two. usually with the same cover art and only in CD version. more "variants" wouldn't get released until a deluxe or an anniversary reissue.

why are taylor fans fighting with adele fans about variants and shit. when adele dropped 25, variants WEREN'T A THING YET

people bought one copy. maybe a vinyl down the line. dropping dozens of different variants upon release and encouraging double dipping just literally wasn't a thing

I have to make sure my scale is aligned EXACTLY the same on the tiles every time

Like that’s an ACTUAL controversial angle to take in mainstream art now

That’s the point we’re at

You literally can’t make art about how Nazis and the KKK are bad anymore

SCOOP: Last year, Ubisoft cancelled an Assassin's Creed game set during Reconstruction. Was to feature a Black Assassin who, among other things, fought the rise of the Klan

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

This explains why I have never once seen an impressive Prime Day deal here in Germany (the ones in the US are just lies they are legally allowed to tell)

Gamers have been so conditioned from steam sales etc to undervalue games that it has completely broken their brains. If Clair Obscur isn't worth 50 bucks what are we even fucking doing.
jygglypuffdaddy.bsky.social
This game launched at $50, well below the typical price for a large beautiful JRPG style experience like this, is releasing major free updates that could have been paid DLC, and there's still people complaining about the price and talking about waiting for sales.

You can never make gamers happy.
