But in some ways - too many ways - Trump is America. He represents a wide swath of Americans. He is not an anomaly. Even on Bluesky, I find some opinions I express, from Star Trek to photography to politics, is automatically answered with an insult, from left and right.

The first episodes - the first year - of most Star Treks have been a little rough. Perhaps, this series will find its voice (hopefully without opera or musical numbers) as it goes along. Fingers crossed but not especially hopeful.

It's good for kids. Hopefully, they'll be drawn into the ST universe.

We all have our own opinions. I'm glad social media allows us to express ourselves, even negatively.

It's been downhill each episode for me. The first episode was well-rounded but each subsequent episode has bored me, a first with ST. My feeling is that this series is aimed at younger people, which is great, but at the expense of rich dialog and intellectual stimulation. Hopefully, it gets better.

Worst news is that the director of 65 Discovery episodes and the abysmal Section 31 will be directing Academy episodes.
