I'm from one of the former Eastern block countries. One of the lessons I learned is that the revolution, the uprising is unimaginable - until it happens. It will still be a lot of work and effort but never despair, the change is just one day away and you never know if that day is tomorrow or not.

This is how many football (or soccer, as some call it) pros walk; it's a legitimate condition caused by asymmetric load during childhood/adolescence that has to be handled by a physical therapist. Anybody dumb enough to emulate it deserves the health issues it will inevitably cause them.

It's more than adquate for low stakes stuff. Not hard but annoying is exactly the job that should be done by machines.

I think there's a lot of truth to this, especially since his comments about how Portland burned down etc. But at the same time, this is a guy who "adjusted" the hurricane projections with a sharpie - so I wouldn't underestimate his will to bend reality in order to fit his own narrative.

This is a claim that should be sourced

I totally agree and that was my point, this is not some decision that was made hastily over Christmas. Google knew months in advance but failed to communicate it.

There's not much that can be done, honestly! Forwarding, IMAP on mobile Gmail app and in third-party clients on desktop... and also a push on people to move everything to Gmail, ideally via Google Workspace.

As Google resellers, we got the info in October and have worked with our clients on the change since.

I switched to a gaming laptop (lenovo legion) because they are more bulky, sturdy and have a good number of in-built ports. No regrets.

I liked DoE overall but had the same impression.

You don't have to steelman an outdated/wrong argument as a part of your thesis to prevent bad faith criticism, that's why we invented the addenda.

Exactly, how is this a sales pitch...

There have been so, so many stories like this that turned out untrue, so it's probably a good rule of thumb to dismiss them unless corroborated in great detail by a trustworthy source.
