As speech and debate coaches will tell us, what Kirk called debating was actually just bullying. There was no set time for each person to state their case, or for a formal rebuttal. Kirk almost always interrupted the other person, make a rude remark, then changed the subject. He was a 31-year-old man choosing college students who were a decade younger than him for his performances, often picking the youngest among them. I would expect extremists to mistakenly identify what Kirk did as "debate." Extremists don't understand debate. They only understand bullying.

I am reminded me of some painting I was doing where the idea was to place triangles in a grid pattern randomly. Then I started doing it by rolling dice instead of choosing my own random, which is really hard. Pictures below.

Watercolor arches for #ArtAdventCalendar. One of my favorite things to paint. So calming.
