I’m afraid you might be right. The “right way” is slow, but the threat is very real and fast-moving. Will there be anything left by the time all these lawsuits work their way through a corrupted system? Will anyone care what the courts say? It’s almost unrecognizable already.

Unfortunately it’s convergence: broken information systems, the media isn’t carrying the protests bc of who owns them and fear of retribution, a chipping-away of institutions since the 80s, and little experience with instability since Vietnam/Watergate. And a well-funded destabilization campaign.
