Just after midnight on June 7th, the day after the anniversary of D Day. Watched an amazing episode (rerun from 2020) of Expedition Unknown. Amazing, timely history lesson. Highly recommend watching it. Many parallels to what's happening today. Joy photo to encourage optimism for change in DC.

I love the intelligence and spirit in the posts I read here in Bluesky. They show me I am not alone in my anger and disgust about what's happening as a result of the current administration's recklessness. I live with someone who voted for this mess and every day it's getting harder to stay with him.

Like so many others, I am not looking forward to Monday. My plan is to hope the people who support the incoming president figure out things won't be so rosy and they vote accordingly in 2 years. I will also be hugging these 2 dogs a lot!

I watched the funeral service for President Carter this morning. The eulogies were all amazing. The service was beautiful. As President Biden said, and I am paraphrasing, character is so important in a President. Jimmy Carter had that in spades. Godspeed to a man who was a true humanitarian.
