It feels disingenuous at this point to call it a ceasefire at all

mm I do agree with you, I just think the expiration date on that card is quite short. Happy to be wrong though!

and I say that it looks like the government also loses because now, to the electorate, they seem impotent despite having an expanded lower-house majority

I’d actually say the government loses as well - feels like the only winner from recent weeks are Zionist lobbyists, as their sway and influence in federal and state politics is all but validated

It would be humiliating if there was even a glimmer of a consequence for Musk. Instead, he’s unscathed and as powerful as ever. and last I heard, the AI undressing of women and children might still be available in Grok the app?

Beautiful and haunting

Honestly his attempted pinkwashing to legitimise rushing through contentious laws feels offensive if anything. Radio silence otherwise from the PM on the rampant queerphobia flourishing online, trans kids unable to get health care in Queensland, violent transphobia encouraged by AUKUS overlords…

It feels notable that the Guardian, from what I’ve seen, hasn’t opened any of their articles on the Royal Commission up to public comments.

An interesting read!

“eSafety Australia said it was investigating images of adults but that the images of children did not, at this point, meet the threshold for child sexual exploitation material.”

How??????????

The also resolve to equating ‘non-political’ as sensible, principled and astute. This approach is agnostic to how much leeway it provides conservative political actors to capitalise on their non-position.
January 7, 2026 at 6:22 AM
It’s also common here in Australia with Labor. They’re not adept, practiced or confident in rebuking scare campaigns/discriminatory dog whistling, or in protecting vulnerable groups. They struggle at identifying systemic cultural issues. Ultimately, they resolve to equating non-political as safe.

It’s shows they have either a naive misunderstanding of or willing obtuseness toward the actual power of progressive politics. They clearly also lack a grasp on how and why historic political progress, especially for queer people, has occurred. This is common among US Democrat leaders/followers.

The jacket/hair is what ruins it - it’s too casual. If it was a sleek jacket OR maybe even a structured coat that’s also in a semi-transparent material then that’d go hard as f*ck I think
January 7, 2026 at 5:01 AM
Really the only thing that doesn’t make it work is the zip up jacket. If it was paired with a more longer, structured, more avant-garde jacket or coat, it could work. The dress is quite sleek and pretty.

Albo et al finding there’s a big difference between talking about fighting tories at the Uni bar and fighting actual fascists as a grown arse adult.
