One man jumped straight into his bed as soon as it was made so I put a blanket over him and said goodnight, like I do with my kids. His face lit up with a smile and he promptly fell asleep. It was 8pm. I left shortly after and stepped out into bitter temperatures. I can’t imagine trying to sleep

The accommodation provided in Blackpool during this cold spell is unsuitable for permanent living. I volunteer with the charity that partners with the council. We are equipped to provide temporary shelter for warmth and safety but that is all.

Last time I saw Bowler as a 10 was under Mad Mick which was a horrific sight. He looked far more assured yesterday.
