I feel like the Democrats have totally ceded ground - over decades! - on the topic of all the good that government does for people's everyday lives.
It is totally taken for granted by the public and the government does not get credit. Instead, it takes constant belittling from the right.

If you read the reported DHS leadership complaints or listen to Ted Cruz today, this is their focus. NOT that the policies are wrong or that people have died, but that ICE/CBP are not nice enough about it -or are lying - and so they are driving people to hate them and rise up.

The thing about all these videos is that ICE/CBP are so disorganized and chaotic. It's literally a bunch of dudes walking around with guns. No structure/discipline/order/etc.
It's both less effective AND more likely to cause chaos and awful outcomes.

Also, this entire discussion, along with many Democrats talking points, has gone from, "it was illegal to invade Venezuela without Congressional approval" to this bickering over logistics ("how much will it cost?") which ACCEPTS Trump's authority to do it in the first place.
