I literally screenshot this yesterday as soon as I saw it.

I appealed and it was restored!

Have you noticed censorship on TikTok? I just got flagged and I never have been before.
January 20, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Yes. Because now Trump is great because he “gave” us TikTok. He “saved” it. He wanted to ban it when a bunch of people fake bought tickets to a rally and he bragged about numbers just to walk out to so many empty seats.

Can’t stop won’t stop. Term limits now. Accountability for insider trading now. Admitting some congress members show up drunk needs to be dealt with yesterday.

It’s just what I do and what I tell my mamaw to do. I’m not telling you or anyone else to do it. Like I said, I own a lot of accounts. If mine gets hacked, they have access to post whatever they want on my towns social media and my nonprofit. It’s just not a risk I want to take.
January 19, 2025 at 6:58 PM
“As a result of President Trump’s efforts…” 🙄
January 19, 2025 at 6:50 PM
If you’re going to turn a discourse around to try and be insulting, I believe the conversation is over. I run socials for myself, my nonprofit, and the town I live in. I don’t want to lose access to things because I carelessly clicked on everything sent to me. It’s not harming you that I do so.
January 19, 2025 at 6:48 PM
And genuinely thank you for your service.
My dad did two tours in Afghanistan. My brother went overseas three times. My other brother is about to go back to Korea to be stationed. My father-in-law was in the Gulf War. It’s not an easy thing to do.
January 19, 2025 at 6:44 PM
We can agree to disagree 🤷‍♀️ I like to vet the links sent to me so I don’t get hacked. It’s not hurting you that I do that. It’s not hurting me if you don’t.
I feel like you think I’m being sassy, but I’m not. You came on my post and I’m simply telling you where I’m coming from and what I’ve read.

I’m not defending China. Not once have I said China is right for spying on their citizens or ours. I’m saying there’s no evidence. I’m saying ByteDance is owned 20% by China and 80% elsewhere.

I’m not one of the people who downloaded Red Note out of spite.
January 19, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Personally who are continuously hacked for clicking on links.
Elderly people from my church. Elderly people who visit my nonprofit. One of my in laws.
January 19, 2025 at 6:34 PM
If someone I know sends me something and we’re talking I’ll click it. If it’s random, I text them and ask if they sent it.

Congrats to your mom. My mamaw hasn’t been hacked because I tell her to never click anything without checking with the person. There are several elderly people
I know persona

I think I have your NYT article without the link. “Despite the lack of evidence for the national security threat posed by TikTok, it remains a theoretical concern, since China has shown a previous willingness to exploit their user data and wields extensive authority over domestic companies.”
January 19, 2025 at 6:31 PM
I don’t click links sent by random people I don’t know on the internet. That’s how all the old people get their Facebooks hacked every month.
January 19, 2025 at 6:29 PM
I don’t click on links but if you share the article name, I will gladly look it up!
January 19, 2025 at 6:26 PM
When I see proof, I’ll admit I’m wrong. As of now, I’ve seen zero testimony or evidence that that’s the case. I do see evidence of congress buying Meta stock, passing a bill to ban the competition, pushing people back to Meta, and trying to make money. That’s why I’m mad.
January 19, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Amen! I’ve had Bluesky downloaded since it first came out. I just never posted 🩷
January 19, 2025 at 6:19 PM
They are speculating. Banning four apps without proof is wild to me. I’ve been looking for articles to back up what you’re saying and I’m not finding it. I found instance where someone accused China, but the very end of the article says “claims have still yet to be proven.”
January 19, 2025 at 6:18 PM
We’re always spied on. Meta is in lawsuits for selling our data. Apple for Siri spying. When there is testimony stating there is absolutely no evidence that China is spying on us from our own security people, that means something. Rand Paul has even been commenting on the complete lack of evidence.

Also, ByteDance is 20% Chinese owned, 20% Employee owned (thousands of which are American), and 60% owned by various international investors.
