Aishwarya is joining the team for her lab rotation, digging into social networks of ring-tailed lemurs. She’ll be mapping out lemur social groups to determine how individual relationships affect group dynamics and behaviour.

🔍 Summary: We analysed 16 mammalian datasets and found that using MFCCs or random forests produced the most consistent results across species/datasets.
If you're working on acoustic ID in animals, these are great go-to methods.

🦙🎙️ Daniel Ariza Echeverri is a Bioinformatics student who joins us from @uni-goettingen.de for his MSc seminar project on vocal communication in alpacas! He’s developing a deep learning pipeline to automatically segment alpaca vocalizations from long-form audio recordings.
