Drove to to Bulverde, TX to watch the annular eclipse! Here's a long cardboard tube with a hole at the top and paper at the bottom. Behold, the annulus.
Some paper taped to the bottom of a cardboard poster tube that, when pointed towards the sun, makes a small projection on the bottom. The sun is being partially covered by the moon in a way that leaves a ring of sun visible around the moon. It also messes with any light beams that peek through leaves and such.
