This isn’t just “hey, I like this other old artist from the 20th century”. It’s about erasure of Black artists — again — and the difference between a billionaire buying off _and rewarding_ those who owned her masters, and someone *actually fighting* those who controlled their master recordings.

Charlie Kirk is generally not worthy of discussion or thought outside of the damage he caused but I think the reaction to it from liberal/centrist pundits deserves a fuck of a lot of scrutiny because I feel like it indicates something very dark and scary
