#knitsky Please tell me I’m not the only one who uses a toothpick as a cable needle. 😂

I’ve crocheted hats before, this is first time knitting one. Pattern is Gentle Breeze Hat, free from Celeste Knitwear. Mixed feelings about this 🧶, single strand that is inconsistent making stitches very rustic.
Knitting project with dk wool blend yarn in shades of khaki and grey. Brim and part of hat body are complete in 2x2 rib pattern with small cable detail. Skein of yarn is shown above the WIP. It is on circular needles that have green leaf shaped caps on the tips and a toothpick is poking through the brim, used as a cable needle.

Today’s project- a chunky knit throw blanket- is a Christmas gift for my youngest daughter. I tried using 25mm needles but ended up ditching them because it was much faster just using my fingers.
Chunky chenille throw blanket hand knit from 8 skeins of sage green super bulky yarn. On top of the blanket rests a set of extra large wooden knitting needles. In the background, a leg lamp Christmas decoration can be seen along with a vintage wood crate. The crate holds a record player and assorted albums.

Summer top is blocking. My daughter tried it on when she was home for Thanksgiving so I was finally able to finish knitting it. I’ve posted all the details before so I’ll just say I’m happy to have it done before Christmas. 🧶
Hand knit top is blocking after being knit. Color is ice blue although it appears grey in photo as it is damp. Lavender and white blocking pins hold the flutter sleeve top on the beige blocking mats.

Made a cowl with the leftover angora from Alaska sweater. No pattern- the pine tree stitch uses multiples of 16 +1, plus I added 6 garter stitches on each end for buttons & buttonholes. It’s soooo airy & soft!

Back from a road trip that gave me lots of knitting time. I have several WIPs going, here are the two I took with me, details of each in alt. 🧶
Brown tweed raglan sweater progress: about 10 rows past splitting for sleeves of Alaska sweater. 🧶 Remix Light in color Patina 6933. There will be tree silhouettes done in delicate creamy white alpaca around the bottom of body and sleeves. Summer top with eyelet cap sleeves knit with Juniper Moon Farms Zooey in Mist. Not using a pattern, although design inspiration is drawn from Simple Summer Tank Top at OriginallyLovely.com. Flutter sleeves are modified version of the pleated cuffs from Kaizen cardigan by Universal Yarn in their Spring 2018 “In the Conservatory”collection. Need to attach right sleeve and then finish length.

Sad trombone:
remaking cardigan sleeves because once I fastened them to the body and tried it on, they were too small. Nearly 4 hours spent deconstructing and now restarting. Stitch markers sum up my state of mind.

Sharing the finished version of my mermaid socks. The 4th pair of socks I’ve knit this year/ever. I found the scallop stitch on YouTube and improvised based on sock patterns by Lauren @abeeinthebonnet.bsky.social

Currently knitting the pleats in the cuff of Kaizen cardigan by slipping stitches onto dpns and then knitting one from each needle together. It’s a little fiddly, but seems to be working.
