Eh, I've known plenty of families where the breadwinner is an engineer, or in the military, and they relocate for work. But that's also a six figure kind of job.

also, just the whole vatican 2 practice of bringing back something vestigial and lost to the practice of the Roman Rite while also deleting a whole bunch of stuff deemed vestigial that was in practice at the time. It's such a stupid cycle.

it's insane on so many levels. the restoration of the stable diaconate was intended for mission territories that wouldn't see a priest for weeks or months at a time. And yet the overwhelming majority of deacons worldwide are in suburban USA.
