I disagree in a few ways because socialism does not lead to the same economic growth that a capitalist society can, thus cannot continually better its material conditions for everyone as capitalism can in a liberal democracy. I still believe the government does have a role in helping everyone though

I believe it is still compatible with democracy, just not a liberal democracy. Take property rights for example, to be a fair liberal democracy you have to have them, but you also have to make sure the original distribution was fair.

I could see more competition if players below the top 200 get payed more and can afford to progress.
