There's gay pining, and then there's Blackbeard moping on the beach. Such a fun show.

Wait have I seriously read 10 books in this series and not clocked that there's an even-odd timeline split??? I'm a terrible reader lol

The main annual event I'm organizing these days is outdoors so air filtration isn't a factor.

I organize community events and I'm very keen to figure out how to make it safe but antigen tests are all we (broadly speaking) have access to OTC and I was told it would be pointless to ask attendees to test with them.

What comfort would testing be if the results aren't all that accurate?

I didn't know that about a Palestine statement and that's appalling =/

I thought SFWA did more than just run the Nebulas, like author advocacy and contract support etc. but again I'm not a member so I don't know that much. But if all good people end membership then it'll really sink...

Isn't the SFWA board made up of members of its writer community? Aren't they elected? Shouldn't organizational democracy be able to defeat a minority (and I believe it's a significant minority) pushing to capitulate to the genAI overlords? TBC I'm not a member and I don't know how it works

Ugh, I have literally been organizing a book club online on behalf of an org the past few months. I hate that scammers are pulling this shit, harming authors & potentially making them suspect legit readers too.

European antisemitism and its global, colonial descendants have hounded us for centuries and still we put the menorahs in our windows, sharing the miracle

This week will be no different

The biggest I can think of off the top is Charles Gannon but that's mostly because of his string of Nebula nominations, so I don't know if that counts.

Now that I know about it I want to be there! Might be tough to swing though.

This is true. More people need to discover this trilogy!

The NDP actually*does* have a shitty centrist wing. It's been in control of the party for decades.
