We're in the middle of heavy playtesting, but taking some time to have fun with very strong builds is always nice.

@probskay.com brought so much life into Bray Beast, I'm excited for you all to experience how much the beast can banter.

Quick and sloppy, but I thought this was still cute enough to show. I want to animate more when I have the time and energy 😌

Thank you so much, that means a lot.

That could work yeah! I don't know many examples of that, but it'd give you a lot more room to play with the systems you have.

No I mean like, writing your own code in an engine. I used a lot of an RPG framework while working on Zenith, and kinda relied on that for everything, which was a mistake I feel.

I'm not skilled enough to write my own engine 😵‍💫

But in the end, I think that all of this was ultimately for the best because now I built up a lot more skills as a developer, and feel more capable of tackling larger projects. This game served its proposed as the "make lots of mistakes and learn" project.

Sorry for the very long response 😅

OH! And I'd tell my past self to just do the project with my own code. Frameworks have proven to be frustrating.

Time efficient in ways, but it's also really frustrating when there are bugs that I can't figure out because it's caught up in so many layers of other people's code, it's frustrating.

My advice said through gritted teeth and tightly grasped shoulders would be
"PLEASE do not 'just wing it and see what happens' what will happen is 2 years of scrapped ideas and time spent doing things that will ultimately be cut"
So uhh... I'd have a solid, set plan from the start and stick with it

And I'll make it even NASTIER.
