Louisiana's #H5N1 #birdflu case prompted #CDC to add a new column to its human cases chart, for where the source of infection is a non-commercial animal/bird exposure, ie a backyard flock. 61 cases in 8 states so far this year. Prior to 2024, the US had only ever had 1. www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/sit...
