Extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling is a hallmark of fibrosis thought to be driven by mesenchymal cells. Here, the authors discover that YAP-TEAD/LOX axis is activated in distal lung epithelial cells, which contributes to ECM remodeling in pre-clinical models of pulmonary fibrosis.

We know some fear raising Gaza’s devastation will be misconstrued as “antisemitic.”
But assessing attacks on health, defending medical neutrality are NOT antisemitic.
They are ethical obligations shaped by medicine’s failures during the Holocaust.

My friend Naftali Kaminski is an Israeli physician, a professor at Yale, and the child of Holocaust survivors. For me he is a model of absorbing his parents' stories intensely, looking the horror of the 20th century in the eyes, and drawing the lesson of radical empathy for the suffering of others.
