Actually put a review on my FB page. A friend who grew up in central California with Sansei (and who visited Manzanar 12 years ago) is looking forward to reading it. She actually wrote a junior book on JA internment in SK nearly twenty years ago. The story is so important in these times!

or not traumatic. Japanese Canadians were interned for the same reason as Japanese Americans: racism. Further, Japanese Americans were permitted to return to the Pacific Coast in 1945. Japanese Canadians were permitted to do so in 1949! A must read!

in one location. That said, there were similar tensions within Angler (all male dynamic) of lateral violence, and there was one stabbing in Tashme. But just because there were fever acts of overt violence either between Japanese Canadians and/or Canadian authorities does not make what happened

military. Most were interned in the BC Interior located in valleys with dirt roads guarded by the RCMP. In such isolated places and the color of their skin, Japanese Canadians could not escape. Further, there were no deaths directly linked to internment in Canada, with gun shots only taking place

He attacked John McCain for "allowing" himself to be captured in Vietnam. He disrespected American war dead while in Europe. I do not expect him to send a representative to the funeral of the young woman he was merely doing her duty. Sympathies to the young woman's family and friends!🙏💙❤️🍁
