Trying to decide if I want to start The Handsmaid’s tale. I’m scared it will depress me even more. What are your thoughts? Is it more a sign of good overcoming evil even when it gets really bad?

There are those who believe proximity to power is power. They are small minded, weak & you will never change their mind. Don’t waste your energy on those people. So when they defend a nazi salute or agree DEI is bad - walk away. You are wasting your time with them. Save your sanity for another day.

The problem is you can’t show the people who voted for this circus the truth of where we are headed. They won’t see it or can’t see it. This started back in the 80s. They removed art & music from education. 2 subjects that assist in critical thinking. They knew what they were doing even back then.
