Hard to find answers when you don't know which questions to ask.
Back on the grind.

I am reducing my caffeine intake. At least I have been for some time. Imma shoot for 100% 'sobriety.' I don't think I've had a day without some form of chemical enhancement since my teenage years.

It is 12 degrees outside. I know for some that is just December. But for us this usually only happens a handful of nights a year. Well, it is morning for me.

Company had their annual dinner tonight. I am not there. :)

Got my Christmas tree. The whole shebang. 101 out the door. Drove to the farm. Hiked up a hill. The kids picked a crooked trunked tree as far as possible from the collection point. I cut it down and carried it back. 101.

A nicer tree, straight as an arrow, 65 at Lowe's.

36 for a lifetime memory.

I dislike near freezing rain. Just drop 2 degrees and be snow. It'll make the morning ice worth it.

Banter is still difficult to convey via text. My apologies.

New job opportunities?

I got off 2 hours early, and I still got paid.

Christmas came early, folks.

Ugh, I am getting political ads from Eastern Tennessee.

It's AI slop selling BS products, ED pills, and now political ads from a different state. I get GA shit too, don't worry. Western NC is in the middle of a lot. Both great and not so great, in terms of markets.

Happy Thanksgiving heathens of the Internet. May your thankfulness materialize good form fortunes for you and those you love.

... And everyone else, whom I assume you love as well.

You know what's funny in a not-very-funny way? I semi-recently got a bump in pay. A 34% bump. (34% of not a lot is not much more)

And, I still never have any money.

I've cut expenses. I don't even buy gas station coffee (no Starbucks) or even eat toast (no avocado), yet here we are.

I recently saw this and I'd love to attribute this to Trump, and we should for the next couple of years. But we should be honest about this and say what it is. It's corporate greed. And corporations are tirelessly pushing for AI development so they can replace employees with algorithms.

Thanksgiving is great and all. But it really is such a waste of food and money.

I'm looking in my fridge and there's not a lot of room for the regular meals and food happening. Now, I am about to cook a feast that will, at best, get half eaten.

Where am I going to store it?

There's a level of meditation involved in pressure washing. It is satisfying as fuck to see the contrast between the grime and bare wood as you erase a year's worth of neglect, but it's also a mindless repetitive task that takes little mental effort.

Minus the occasional splash in your eyeball.

So, is Twitter and bluesky just places to indulge our parasociality?

Forgive me. I come from Reddit and old school message boards. I'm not familiar with this format.

So, I am watching this star talk thing with 3 noted astrophysicists/cosmologist, theoretical or otherwise, and they throw in some comedians for pizzazz?

youtu.be/NANNXXo2RCw?...

It makes it almost unwatchable, unfollowable, because Hasan and Chuck crack jokes in the middle of explanations.

YouTube algorithm is great and all, sure. I get exposed to channels that I would not otherwise find.

However, if you stray too far off your normal watching preferences then all those channels you enjoyed get lost in the chaff.
Oh, a history of gaming consoles? Sure.

Now it's all gaming videos.

This picture sums up politics on social media. People are really good at finding problems, but less good at fixing them. The pink shows where there is continuity, the un-highlighted lines is where there isn't. It's the last person's job to both find and fix. Not find and forget.

Classic North Carolina:

Industrial Park with an outdoor shooting range. Training dude to shoot point-blank range. Meanwhile, earlier, the guys in the back were mocking the customer.

These days only a handful of things give me physical manifestations of anxiety.

A. Marijuana consumption
B. Running late for appointments or other obligations
C. Dashboard warning lights

My tire plug didn't hold. :( Luckily, I keep a full-sized spare, so a quick swap out is all it took.

Well, it is morning again.

I was having a weird dream that I am pretty sure I was enjoying.

But I can't remember, damnit.

Today I learned most farmers are 6 digit yearly earners. Makes sense they voted against their interests. Especially soy-bean farmers. Damn welfare queens. BTW they didn't vote against their interests. It's a shame small farmers got hurt, though.

Come home from work. 12 hour shift. Open the car door and hear a light hiss. There's a nail in the tire.
