I think it would be unfortunate if that becomes the case, because setting up that infra on servers in a secure and scalable way is nontrivial

maybe agent harnesses can get more creative with how they integrate with MCP to mitigate the problems outlined here, though, something worth prototyping

also, local coding agents aren't the end-all be-all of tool use, either - stepping out of the "everything is bash" world makes MCP's generalizability much more important, even if it does make some compromises

I had no idea who this person was when I saw the original thread, and I am very confused now that they claim to be very invested in decentralization, given that the core premise they've built on all this time seems to be fundamentally flawed

because people own it, and people are inherently not neutral - that's part of why the PDS is cool, because if you can own the PDS, it is subject to your own ideology, whatever that happens to be
