Deeply disappointed and even more disappointing.
Quite the publicity/reframing the current austerity project as kinder-than-it could-have-been stunt, pink suits and frilly collars included.

Damn well said, and shouldn't have to be.

(I was actually a bit scared that night that they'd clocked me as female and walked way faster, nearly running up Albert Street to the bus, hence the triggered bit.)

Trigger: back way before you knew me I was much smaller sideways, had a shaved head, and, wearing double denim, walked home too late while two guys behind me debated my gender before deciding 'my ass didn't belong on a boy'.You're Sarah & you're beautiful (and actually quite girly, sorry 😜).

It was a great day but I'm thinking some of the panels should have been done on the daisy covered lawns rather than shut away inside.

War is Peace. That's as far as we've (or at least I've) got this morning, but keep posted for any actual thoughts.

Investigative news story idea: how much (aggregated so not interfering with privacy) has each NZ university spent on settling individual and collective employment disputes over the past five/ten years? It's (mostly) public $ and unis tend to be pretty bad employers.

Yeah I had to look that up too. Not even clear that he thought that either. Something to do with categorisation and taxonomies, like if some spiders actually have eight legs (and some have six legs) then are they still insects? Will have to go a real book or something 😭.

I gotta add these to my Virtue Ethics lecture somehow this semester. I've already got a list of Remarkably Stupid Things that Kant thought yet don't stem from the categorical imperative in any logical way whatsoever. No more effs to give and all that.

Hey no spoilers. Me and the kid have a date each Sunday to watch and review lessons in resisting fascism.

A circular economy even.

I'm also deeply concerned by the general threat to uni autonomy ATM (+ attacks on the social sciences), mirroring recent US developments but also the history of attacks on the "Marxist sciences" by various authoritarians, from the Argentine junta to Portugal's Salazar. Gives me the absolute creeps.

See also my course centring Battlestar Galactica. It's got Greek philosophy, transitional justice, and some critical race theory. In my head anyway.

The best! I was a bit bored at first but by the end (so good!) I thought the likes of you and me (team teaching dreams!) should teach a whole politics course based on Season 1.
