Lovely day today with two of our youngest grandkids. ❤️
It had been a few weeks, so it was lovely to get Jo and Gideon for a few hours today. We played some pool (I need to practice for an upcoming tournament here) Enjoyed lunch together And played a couple of games on the Wii. It is always a joy to have kids with us. Most are not around anymore like they used to be. We understand. But it makes these moments all the more precious when we get them now😊❤️

Friday with Jo, Saturday with Nathan ❤️
Loving our family
Friday we had Johanna (as we often do). She and Nana went shopping for tulips at a local farm Jo carefully chose and cut her own flowers. Then we went home and had lunch together and played games. A sweet day Then on Saturday we were blessed to spend some time with Nathan, who drove from DC to our former church, where we had spaghetti dinner together and Nathan was a featured speaker for their annual missions fundraiser. He wore his Kurdish clothing and spoke about his work with YWAM, including his time in a Yazidi refugee camp in Iraq last year After the program, Nathan interacting with and answering questions from church members. We are, of course, proud of him. But we also just loved seeing him.

Beautiful Easter worship this morning at our new church home, then dinner with (almost) half our family, followed by fun and fellowship with them.
Mt Gretna UMC Preparing to have dinner, we are with Morgan (Gideon’s girlfriend) and all of Chris’s family except for Nathan Grandchildren and Morgan hanging out after dinner (while we chat with Chris and Jen). The afternoon was filled with game-playing and fun. Jo and Morgan on the Wii, grandsons playing board games, and several other things. Abby spent some of her time sunning on the deck. She and Jen spent some time napping. At this moment, Ben and Isaiah and Gideon (in the background at the dining table) were playing a sometimes raucous game of Monopoly. It was a pleasant, relaxing, joyful afternoon ❤️

Trip to the Poconos to see Alan
and Seth.
Friday evening we met our old friend Alan for dinner in Snydersville. Then we went to the PA Music Educator’s All-State Festival to see Seth in the Jazz Band. What a great night
Dinner with Alan at Snydersville Diner. He and I played together in a little jazz/pop dance band back in the 1960’s. Karen knew him since kindergarten. Three very old friends. Alan had always been the best jazz trumpeter I’ve ever known (and the only member of our former band who still performs). Our grandson Seth was in the trombone section of the PA State Jazz Band at last night’s concert, which was the reason for our trip to the Poconos, Seth is second from the right. Trombone players were only visible when they stood for a solo. This was the second time Seth made State Jazz Band. Last year, their concert was in far-away Erie. We were thrilled we could make it this year, only two hours away. Alan came along to the concert. We had taken Seth to see Alan perform a couple years ago. His group (Co-Op Bop) plays a few times each year at the Deerhead Inn, also in the Poconos. Seth really enjoyed hearing my old friend play. And he was pleased to see him again last night. Seth did a little dueling trombones bit as part of the concert. I took some video, but probably won’t post it here. Before leaving home Wednesday to travel here, Seth was honored by his Jr ROTC battalion with a citizenship award. He is now “Cadet Command Sergeant Major Seth Fenstermaker.” Couldn’t be more proud of him.❤️

Today we had Jo most of the day. Played some Nertz Played quite a bit on the Wii Jo bowling We ended our afternoon picking up Gideon and Abby from their daylong rehearsal at the high school. We took the three to the Lebanon Market and let them all pick out their favorite candies. Just loving any precious time with the grands. They are all so awesome ❤️
