Sometimes life is taking a bite out of me, sometimes I’m feeding life. Perspective is all. Angry supporter of the tolerance paradox. Will those slow drivers get out of my way?!
@janecaro.bsky.social thanks for the cracking read. I just finished Lyrebird. Highly enjoyable.

Thankfully Australia resoundingly rejected the Trump follower, Dutton. Proud to be an Aussie who along with an overwhelming majority of my country’s people said: Hell no! Not in my country.

How do Americans consider they have freedom, are family and community oriented, and live in a land of opportunity when they restrict the freedoms of others, reject families and communities of others; and remove opportunity from those who were not born with it? I do not understand.

Its 7.30am and I am weeping over Tim Minchin’s ‘White Wine in the Sun’ so it must be Christmas Eve. Never been more grateful to be Australian (& I’ve always been grateful) than in 2024. youtu.be/fCNvZqpa-7Q

Grief attacks like an unseen assailant. It seizes lungs stopping breath, forcing sharp tears from eyes, as the body contracts defensively. Nothing else exists in that moment. Then you fight it off. And grieve. Again.

Maybe Trump is Mary Poppins deliberately trying to show what happens when you make bad choices. Maybe you’ll suffer for a bit then you’ll get hot chocolate and hugs when you’ve learned your lesson? Wishful thinking?

Taking a day to be mindful about what one is thankful for strikes this non American as being a worthy aim.
Tying that to being hosted and saved from starvation then attempting genocide on your hosts, nah, not so much.

Ginkgo and Caladium cold country and hot country origins. So different. So perfect together.

It’s Awkward starting somewhere new. Smiling at everyone and wondering which of these strangers I’m going to lunch with - and which will be the bore I’ll run from until I leave.
