It’s a Catholic school thing, at least it was here in the US. I’m not sure if they still do that, though.

What did you use to make your feta?

What makes this an even stupider argument is the fact that usually vegan/vegetarian products are in their own sections, not mixed in with actual meat products.

MAAT and the coach museum are both amazing, plus a lot less crowded than many other attractions in Lisbon. Highly recommend!

The fact that he thinks any normal family buys their kid 37 dolls for Christmas is incredibly telling.

Our yard and neighborhood in general is pretty bird-friendly - lots of native plants, bushes with berries, and old trees. And bird baths. We also had a pair of Eastern Towhees that raised chicks here for a few summers and sometimes came by in the winter. I miss them!

Yes. Yet also that individuality doesn’t give you a free pass to be an asshole to others all the time. Because self-centered behavior can harm others, which can be ethically questionable and end up harming you as well. So neither extreme selfishness nor altruism is a good thing.

We’ve had Hermit Thrushes spend the winter around our yard for many years. (Sadly, not this year so far.) They love mealworms and will sometimes check out other offerings on our tray feeder. (We often use a mix with dried berries, so maybe that helps attract them?)

So true! And the older you get, the more difficult it is to digest dairy.

Having said that, even just looking at it from the outside is impressive.

Be prepared for a LOOONG wait any time during high tourist season, even if you buy your ticket in advance. And wear a sun hat or bring an umbrella/parasol because there’s no shade. We left despite having tickets because we clearly would have been in line at least an hour after our admission time.

Back in the late ‘90s when I was thinking of switching to soy milk but wondering whether I’d miss out on nutrients from dairy, my best friend (pregnant at the time) reminded me that it isn’t natural to consume milk after infancy. Couldn’t believe I had never thought of that!

However, unless cultivated milk had become the standard option (over regular dairy) I might be skeptical. Especially if producers and cafes/restaurants charged more for it, there’d be an incentive for false claims.

I think if enough people buy it instead of commercially produced dairy it would be a huge win for cows and the environment. Personally, I’d still stick with plant milks. But if the only option was cultivated milk (or items made with it) I might try it.
